Kristen Zollars, MA, LPC

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR (she/her)

My compassion and concern for others has led me to pursue a career as a therapist. I find value in helping people overcome life challenges and improve their quality of life. For many years, I have specialized in treating individuals with eating disorders and body image issues at an inpatient level of care. Along with treating eating disorders, I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addictions, OCD, and relationship issues. As I progressed further into my career, I was fortunate to include horses as part of the therapeutic process. My four legged friends and co-therapists taught valuable skills, such as boundary setting, trust building, confidence, self-esteem, balance, mindfulness, and healthy communication. I am able to incorporate these lessons into a traditional office setting, enriching my therapeutic practice.

I believe a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship that is free from judgment is essential for individuals to safely experience their full range of emotions and discover their true self. I bring these qualities, along with warmth, compassion, and empathy to every session.

My therapeutic approach is trauma informed and holistic. I am passionate about helping people heal in their mind, body, and spirit and to feel empowered. In order to accomplish this, I adapt evidenced based practices to meet each client's needs. Together we will also identify your strengths and utilize them to overcome challenges to achieve long term success.

When I am not in a therapy session, I am usually riding horses, playing softball, reading, hiking, practicing yoga, or spending time with my family.

Recovery and healing is possible and within reach! I would be honored to help you feel like yourself again. I am currently accepting new patients and offer both in person and virtual sessions. Please call today to schedule an appointment.
